In
dinnertime, we order a combo “Best Choice for 2 persons $185” and one
extra dish. The combo includes 6 pieces of Samosa, a big bowl of Curry
Prawn, a plate of dry African Chicken (1/2), 2 glasses of Coke (with sliced lemon, extra $10 for 2 glasses). The extra dish is a big bowl of East Indies Fish ($68).
The
content of Samosa is beef. It should be eaten with the green herbal
sauce. Taste is ok. When Curry Prawn and African Chicken are served, the
waiter brings us 2 (full) plates of plain rice. Originally we would
like to order Ginger rice ($20), it is lucky that we have not ordered as these 2 plates of
rice is already very big in size and cannot be finished by 3 persons.
The
prawn in Curry Prawn is mainly small to medium-sized prawns. Sauce
taste is rich and good. But the Prawn is not fresh enough, resulting
that there are still 5 pieces of prawn left in the big bowl. In fact, we
do not expect the prawn is not fresh enough in this restaurant.
The
African Chicken is quite similar to the one I ate in Egypt. On top of 3
pieces of chicken, there are quite a lot of cooked onion and fried
garlic. This would greatly enrich the taste. This dish is suggested to
order if you try next time. When we ask the waitress whether this chicken is a frozen
one. She said it is fresh chicken and not frozen food. But we cannot
100% believe in what she said.
Since the food amount is not enough for 3 of us, we order an extra dish of East Indies fish. This fish should be the best item in
the whole dinner. Fish steak (3 pieces) is fresh and juicy. Since the
fish steak is fried on both sides in order to keep the juice in the
steak. When we ask for the difference among different names of curry
fish, the waitress said it is mainly the difference in the amount of coconut juice added
the sauce. This leads to the difference in name. In fact, the cooking
method is more or less similar.
To
conclude, the taste of all dishes is good . Total bill is $289 (10%
service charge is included). If the freshness of chicken and prawn can
be improved, we would evaluate this restaurant higher. Anyway, this
restaurant should be one of the best curry food restaurants in my mind.
