Braised
Black Cod 醬油燴銀雪魚$160 is really a big dish (yes, it is fish) . Though
there are red oil and red chili on the whole dish, it is not too spicy.
Cod fillet is fresh as well. In our opinion, this dish should be priced at $100, with lesser pieces of cod fillet.
Totally there are 8 appetizers. They are of good quality and taste.
Buckwheat
Noodle in Soup 湯冷麵$90. The whole bowl of noodle is cold. Noodle is
quite al dente, but it is quite different from Japanese soba. Soup base
is fresh and not too concentrated. It is an item to be recommended in
your next try.
Ginseng
Chicken Soup 高麗人參雞湯$150 comes in a big bowl. It is surely a tasty one
with both flavors of ginseng and chicken. A small portion of rice at the
bottom (which has been boiled together for a long time) greatly
enhances the soup texture. We like these pieces of rice very much.

Lee Fa Yuen is a higher-end restaurant and is a place to try traditional Korean foods.
Lee
Fa Yuen (LFY) is a Korean restaurant with more than 40 years history,
since 1965. We still have no chance to dine. Tonight, we want to change
to try Korean cuisine, which is not frequently tried in our dinner. Lee
Fa Yuen
is not a restaurant of large area, but it gives us a comfortable first
impression. Air-con is particularly strong; this is understandable in
Korean restaurant, where bbq and hot pot are common. LFY should be a
typical Korean restaurant, we notice that the lady boss is a Korean and should have been living in Hong Kong for more than 15 years, we guess.
We
order 3 dishes and a ginger tea altogether (the ginger tea is not
suggested to order, it is diluted from ginger syrup.). The bill is $473
(average spending $158). Food taste is average only (maybe, Korean
cuisine is not our top favorite cuisine), food quality is high anyway. Dish portion
is comparatively large. Even though we order 3 dishes only, together
with 8 Korean appetizers, we nearly cannot finish all the foods.
