Grilled
Pork Knuckle $129 is undoubtedly the best item in the meal. Pigskin is
crisp; the meat inside is still very juicy and not salty. It is the best
quality knuckle ever tried in Hong Kong, in my memory. It is highly
suggested to order in your next visit. Sweet & sour veggie and mash of potato are served as well.
From another angle.
Salmon Cake served with Beetroot & French Fries is not a special
item. Inside the cake, there are diced salmon and potato mash. Overall
is average only.
A closer look.
Apple Strudel 蘋果卷 $30 is a traditional pastry of Austria. Sweet
apples, currants, and raisins are spiced with cinnamon, wrapped in
phyllo with fresh breadcrumbs and baked until golden and hot. It is not
too sweet.
Konig Pilsner $40 is a little Konig Pilsner $40 is a little bit bitter
than those normally available in Hong Kong. It takes time to prepare
this beer, resulting that there is a white cream-like foam on the top.
In the beginning, we order one bowl of “Soup of The Day (Tomato Soup)
$32” to share. It is very tasty (not because of MSG), with a lot of
beans at the bottom. We order one more bowl afterwards.

Sometimes,
we would have drinks in Lan Kwai Fong after dinner in Central. This
time, we have our dinner in Lan Kwai Fong. The restaurant is one serving
German foods and beers. Schnurrbart is not a big restaurant, there is
about 30 seats altogether . Waitresses are mainly Philippine ladies. They are courteous and have good knowledge of the menu.
Overall food quality is high. The bill is $340 (average spending
$170). Price is in the reasonable range in Lan Kwai Fong. It is a
relaxing night of German food. Next time, we would like to try other
famous German sausages.
