Rice Vermicelli w/ Pork Chop $21. Pork Chop in small pieces has been
prepared by adding garlic paste, black pepper and soya sauce. It is
surely the signature item in Ping Kee.
There
is sauce adhering to the surface of pork chop. No meat tenderizer has
been added to pork chop. The pork should have been chopped beforehand,
the meat is chewy and not tough. This should be highly appreciated. Soup
base is average and not outstanding , and msg should be in small amount, if any. Rice vermicelli is
already al dente, in the sense that it is rice vermicelli but not
noodle.
Instant Noodle with Chicken Wings. Chicken wings (3 pieces) are served
separately. Though it is of course frozen food, it has not been boiled
in soy sauce soup for too long time. The chicken meat is still chewy but
not too soft.
Noodle
texture is very average only. Soup base is average as well and not
outstanding. Or, you may (should / must) order Nissin noodle instead.
For the best taste available in your meal, it is suggested to order pork
chop vermicelli, chicken wing, tea with milk and toast.
Toast with Milk & Butter
Ping Kee is an old-styled Dai Pai Dong. Food and service are of very high quality unexpectedly.

Ping
Kee (PK) is a Dai Pai Dong 大排檔 in Tai Hang. Its pork chop is very famous
for its good taste. Though PK is a Dai Pai Dong, it does not give us a
dirty feeling. All servers are very polite and of good manner, this is quite contrary to the manner commonly served
in other Dai Pai Dong. We appreciate all servers in PK very much. This
is also the high level of good service expected by Mr. Andy Lau.
We
order 2 noodles, drink and toast, the bill is $54 (average per head
$27). Its food quality is value for money and surely in the high quality
category, it is even higher than quite a lot of other Cha Chaan Teng.
You are
suggested to have a try in an afternoon, in order to escape from the
crowd. Of course, it is not so crowded as that in Sheng Heung Yuen in
Central. If you look for foods other than pork chop and chicken wing, I
am sorry PK is not your choice.
Service: 4/5 (but not overdo)
Price: 3.5/5
Food:
4/5 (in view of the foods we try, they are already of very high
quality. Though its noodle is average, it is regarded as an outstanding
Dai Pai Dong in my mind. This is why it is always crowded for the whole day.)
