Inside the tea house, we suddenly become a part of the elegance.
Beancurd Sheet Roll $28 is slightly pan-fried. Dipping the Japanese soya sauce included enhances the bean taste.
This beancurd sheet looks mouth-watering, a piece has been eaten before taking this photo , sorry.
Steamed Date Paste Bun $16 is hot when served.
The stuffed date paste is not too sweet and is quite refreshing. It is
a quality steamed bun. The bun is cut into 2 halves for photo-taking
purpose, but not by month.
Water Chestnut Pudding $16 is served in cold. It is not too sweet and has a slight flavor of sugar cane.
Osmanthus Anxi Oolong 桂花烏龍 $38, a flower tea, is served in such tea set.
Anhui Yellow Tea 小黃茶 $38 is the only yellow tea in the menu. Tealeaf has been fermented and the taste is mild.

We
long to have a try in Lock Cha Tea Shop – Tea House (LC). Late in the
afternoon, we pay a visit to LC. It is a place for Chinese tea. All
servers are trained and equipped with knowledge of tea. They are nice and have good service manner. LC can serve about 40 diners at
the same time. Lunchtime in weekdays is the busiest period in a day.
Other than this period, LC is not always full.
Vegetarian
dim sums are served everyday, which are made daily from fresh
ingredients and cooked in an old-fashioned Chinese way. More than 100
kinds of tea are available all the time. Basically dim sum and tea menus
are the same for the whole day. We
select 2 kinds of tea and 3 dim sums; the bill is $149 (average per
head $75). We do have a leisured afternoon and are pleased to try
delicious high quality vegetarian dim sum. We have to thank for the
government to maintain this old building for LC.
