Fried Shunde Dumpling w/ Soup is one of the signature items in Fung Shing Restaurant. It is good but can be improved further to attain excellence. From the dumpling surface and the paper underneath, it is not oily.

Steamed Cuttlefish In XO Sauce

Beef Tendon in Chu Hou Sauce. Taste is good and it is rich in collagen.

Steamed Shrimp Ball w/ Fish Maw. There are only 2 pieces of shrimp ball, which is quite juicy and not too hard. We can sense that the shrimp meat is bouncy and fresh.

We do not expect Marinated Goose Wings & Feet is tasty in Fung Shing, it is also not too salty. The bone and meat are rich in marinated flavor. In our experience this time, dim sum and other items in Fung Shing are all not salty . This should be the result they expect to achieve.

Malay Steamed Sponge Cake

Baby Leaf Mustard in Broth should be highly appreciated. Though leaf-mustard is not small in size, it is quite tender and does not have bitter taste. When it is served to us, the vegetable is still in vivid green color. When we check with the waiter whether there is any skill in the cooking, he after checking with the chef informs us that the tip is to add sugar in boiling the vegetable, bitter taste can mostly be eliminated.

Remarks:
1) Some dim sum are in limited supply, you have to order those dim sum as early as possible if you are eager to try them.
2) This original Fung Shing group should have at least 50 years history.
 
North Point branch of this original Fung Shing Restaurant has not yet been tried so far. We therefore would like to try its dim sum (traditional dim sum) this afternoon. Today, the restaurant is not very crowded; it is anyway about 90 percent full in lunchtime.

We order 7 items totally; the bill is $205 (average per head $103). We are quite satisfied with all dim sum, in terms of taste and originality. The vegetable in broth should be highly appreciated. After this dim sum meal, we notice that Fung Shing is progressing with time. All dishes are not salty and oily. Servers are attentive and a bit above average service manner are provided.
