'Kam Shing Congee & Noodle' is inside the forest of old buildings in Jordan, Kowloon.
Congee
of White-spotted Rabbitfish $29. There are 3 pieces of medium sized
fish in this bowl of congee. Fish is fresh and meat tender. This means
the fish has been boiled in congee in the right period of time. There is
no msg in the congee, this should be applausive.
Fried Ricesheet Roll is freshly steamed. A pity is that the fried
baguet is not freshly oil-fried. Thanks for ga ga's reminder, as far as I
know, ricesheet roll is available from 2200 onwards.
Wonton is not very big in size. There are 2 pieces of shrimp and small
amount of pork in each wonton. Wonton is tasty, small amount of msg has
been added, if any.
We
originally have no intention to order steamed dumpling (shui jiao).
When a man at the table next to us orders a bowl of steamed dumpling
(about 6 pieces) only, we guess he should dine here regularly and we
immediately order the same. It turns out that our decision is wise and correct. Steamed dumplings
are delicious and of very high quality. We have to thank for the man, or
we would miss this fantastic item. It is even more delicious than
wonton.
From this condiment set and the photo below, you should have more
understanding of what Kam Shing is. It is an old fashioned congee
restaurant.

Kam Shing Congee & Noodle (KS) is a local restaurant of congee and
noodle in Jordan . Congee base is in very high quality. It is a place
for locals and visitors to try the original Guangdong congee, noodle and
snacks.
We
have passed by KS many times before. The main reason we have not paid
any visit is that the restaurant looks not hygienic enough. Tonight, we
would like to have a supper of congee and ricesheet roll. We select KS,
which is on the ground floor of an old building of more than 50 years history.
Though
there is no very hospitable service, servers are also attentive and
have swift response. We order altogether 4 items, the bill is $83
(average per head $42). To our astonishment, food quality is in such a
high level, no msg has been
added for sure. If we have not tried by ourselves, we must not believe.
Food material and cooking skill are the important factors for the high
quality. What I can do is to introduce to my blogmates. It is really a
good place for supper.
