Victory Restaurant is a Cha Chaan Teng of 40 years history. It was founded in 1968.
This is the layout and decoration of a typical old-fashioned Cha Chaan
Teng. It should be a species of oldie to be protected. Daily meal sets
are written on the red board in white letters.
All dishes are printed on the menu paper, which is covered by a big
glass. This hot Ovaltine is served with 'curry chicken with rice' in the
picture below.
Curry Chicken with Rice $28 (served with set drink) is very tasty. It
is the taste of Cha Chaan Teng curry. Chicken thigh has been fried and
chopped into smaller pieces.
Singapore-Style Fried Vermicelli is a bit above average and not very
outstanding. We request the chef to fry with less oil. We are already
satisfied with the foods in Victory Restaurant.

Victory
Restaurant (VR) is a Cha Chaan Teng with long history in Kowloon . It
has no splendid decoration. Blue grey tiles cover the floor . Waiters
are uncle-typed and of over 60 years old. We can find old dish names in
the menu paper.
Diners are quite gentle; they are either reading newspaper or chatting
with partners in low pitch. The whole restaurant is in a slow pace. I am
not complaining, I am in fact enjoying the Cha Chaan Teng feeling of 40
years before . Though the servers are of older ages, they are in fact very courteous and professional. We appreciate them very much.
We
order fried vermicelli and curry rice. We really do not expect the
foods are quite tasty and they surely are not of those horrible taste
and presentation. Curry dish is the signature item in VR. You are
recommended to have a try. VR is for sure a special species of oldie to be protected. We need such Cha
Chaan Teng to complete the picture of Hong Kong dining industry.
