The signature item in Wing Hap Lung Restaurant must be carbonado.
For
the good quality portion, it is in the form of layers. Lard between
meat layers has been dissolved in the roasting process. It has a nice
flavor of roast pork. The flavor is sweet and has the fragrance of roast
meat. In the purchase, only about 50% belongs to such good quality
portion.
The skin is very crispy, for sure.
Everybody in the queue is waiting for this large piece of roast pig (carbonado).
Cha
Siu is said to be another signature item. But from the appearance, I do
not think so and have never tried, and have no intention to try so far.
Except
that the signboard should have been renovated recently, the whole
restaurant basically has no interior design and decoration. There is a
queue of several persons everyday in the afternoon.

Hap Lung has a history of about 40 years, it is well-known for selling
carbonado (roasted pig meat with skin) and Guangdong bbq stuffs.
Basically, except that there is a renovation of its signboard recently,
there is no interior design and decoration.
Apart from carbonado
and rice, I have never tried other items. I guess there is no need to
try other items other than its carbonado. Deep in my mind, if there is
one signature item in a restaurant, it is already very outstanding. To
enjoy the foods, it is better to buy takeaway. If you want to eat
carbonado of better quality potion, it is needed to queue up. In the
afternoon, there are always several persons in the queue, waiting for
the allotment of better quality portion.
Needless to say,
normally there is no need to waste time in queue-up. But for the
carbonado of good quality portion, there is such a need. It is from
fresh pig meat. The skin of carbonado is very crispy. There is a very
mouth-watering flavor of carbonado. The flavor is sweet and has the
fragrance of roasted pork. Such flavor is only available for good
quality fresh pork. Some people would say carbonado is not of such high
quality as claimed in the media. And whether it is value for money
surely depends on one’s own evaluation. Luck is sometimes very
important, which may decide which portion of carbonado is allotted to
you.
