It
is well known that China Café (CC) is always selected to be the scene
of Hong Kong film. Before I really visit in person, I always have the
desire to visit soonest, for the sake of feeling and seeing how
nostalgic it is.
CC is an old style Cha Chaan Teng for about 50
years history. CC has both ground floor and mezzanine floor. If you want
to have more impact in your meal / visit, it is suggested to request
sitting on mezzanine floor. Overseeing the entrance on the ground floor
is very enjoyable from mezzanine floor. Every item in the restaurant can
be regarded as an antique, like table, chair, floor tile, wall
decoration and the staircase (I am sorry that I forget to take photo of
the staircase). We are very excited when we are inside this antique.
We
order sandwich, toast and red bean ice, the bill is $45 (average per
head $23). We have not ordered rice or noodle as we do not think that
they can cook them with high quality. It is therefore better to order
stuffs requiring simple cooking skill. If I want to eat rice or noodle, I
would resort to try in other restaurants. Within expectation, the items
we ordered are not bad. Under normal circumstances, toast and sandwich
are not too difficult to prepare.

Teng of old age, we can recall the memory of eating red bean ice in our
childhood. China Café is a rare species in Hong Kong, we should try our
best to protect it until an unknown time period in future.
