Ice Coffee and Hot Organic Tea
It
should be a Cha Chaan Teng of new generaion in Cheung Chau. But it
adopts an outlook image of old Cha Chaan Teng, the interior is a typical
Cha Chaan Teng. It serves mainly western and organic foods, like pasta,
toast, burger and cake.
Mushroom in Pesto Sauce Pasta is nicely presented. The portion is
normal. Today is Cheung Chau Bun Festival, we specificially lead a
vegetarian lunch. Non-vegetarian dishes are available too.
Mushrooms are canned food. Pasta texture is alright. Overall taste is
light, it seems that the chef forgets to add salt. If garlic paste is
fried and cooked together, the taste would be enhanced.
Asparagus,
Fresh Mushrooms in Onion Sauce, served w/ Coarse Rice is a special and
delicious. This immediately gives us an impression that this rice is
much more delicious than the former pasta, in view of overall quality.
But we have to bear in mind this rice is much higher in price.

We
today do not want to try seafood, Chinese food, wonton noodle, and
McDonald's burger, it is needed to find an eatery not too close to the
pier and also a bit far away from the crowd. We finally select Chiu Kee,
which is on the southern part of Cheung Chau, located at the junction of Tai
Tsoi Yuen Road and Lung Tsai Tsuen Road, or simply next to C&MA
Cheung Chau Alliance Church.
It
is not so crowded as those eateries near the pier, but it is still full
today. We wait for a while to get our seating. We can sense delicious
foods are being cooked in the open kitchen. We simply order two drinks,
rice and pasta. It takes quite a long time to be entertained by the only little girl waitress and before drinks and foods are served.
Presentation
of foods and drinks are nice, it is similar to or even better than
those presented in other eateries in the urban area. But there is much
room of improvement in food taste. Maybe, they would like to be an
eatery serving organic homemade food and
drink. Imho, rice and pasta are still needed to be delicious or
sufficient amount of seasonings should be added. They give me an
impression that the chefs are still learning cooking in school as
apprentices. Hope they know their shortcomings and can improve as time goes by.
