Hong
Tu Di (literally means red land) is a beautiful place and scenic spot
for photographers in Yunnan, Dongchuan (雲南東川). Dongchuan, located at
more than 40 km southwestern of Kunming City, is the area with most
concentrated and most typical characteristic red land in China.
Through
the oxidation of iron in the soil gradually, it forms the dazzling
colour. From September to December and in May every year, when green
barley, wheat and other crops have been planted, it forms a brilliant
and gorgeous piece of land. Together with blue sky and white cloud, it forms the Red Land of spectacular scenery.
The PIC is Mr. Zhang, contact 0871-6901339.
The best photo-taking time is early in the morning, late in the afternoon and after a shower.
This is in fact the hill top. Nearly all trees have been removed. On
the one hand, this would greatly increase the amount of crops. On the
other hand, this would result in soil erosion.
Local government therefore orders farmers to plant more trees gradually, to maintain the soil quality.
At the time of our visit, the field is not very colourful.
Pale green, green, reddish brown are the colours we come across.
It is not the best condition to take good photos.
It is already a very impression and beautiful picture to me.
It is a picture of silence and calm.
Though the weather is not particularly suitable for photo-taking, this
does not affect the impression of Hong Tu Di (Red Land) in our memory.
It is like blankets of different colours covering the hill top.
