Roasted Salt Chicken should have been prepared several house before
serving to us. Chicken flavor is further enhanced. It is a fresh
chicken. It is a must-try in each table.
Also known as the "Venice of Hong Kong", Tai O is a hot tourist spot
for both foreigners and residents of other parts of Hong Kong.
Spiced Salt Beancurd has a very thin crispy surface and is very delectable.
Sweet & Sour Spare Rib is of high quality owing to the use of
fresh pork. It is not the best we ever try, but is still in high
quality.
Beancurd Sheet Roll & Taro Roll are stuffed with vegetarian items.
They are surely not oily, only sophisticated cooking skill can do.
Fried Grouper. It is a sea fish and should be one with about 4
catties. Meat texture is good and intact. Such meat quality is not
commonly available in restaurants now.

Cashew Sweet Soup is today dessert and not those packed powders from supermarket. Cashew is grinded into powder by rock grinder.
Hoi Wan Restaurant is a local restaurant with no splendid decoration.
It serves all kinds of dish, but is not only confined to vegetarian
dishes.

Remarks:
1) Booking in advance is needed, not because the restaurant is full,
but because there will be no seafood, no chicken and no ... .
2) Plain Rice Congee is needed to try. It is boiled from old rice grain and beancurd sheet.
It
is a treasurable dining experience in Tai O. Beforehand, we really do
not expect there is such a restaurant serving tasty Chinese food but at a
very reasonable price. Hai Wan Restaurant (HW) is an eatery with local
country decoration. If not to be
led, we really do not know there is a good restaurant in this part of
Tai O. Our understanding of Tai O includes Tai O Wing On Street and Kat
Hing Back Street only. We do not know there are several eateries at 15
minutes walk from the bus terminus.
Most
of the dishes are booked in advance. For the grouper, we have also
informed HW to arrange for us in advance. The grouper is a sea fish and
is purchased from the fisherman in Tai O by HW. All other dishes are
also of very high quality and they can foster the high quality attainable from food
materials. Today dessert is Cashew Sweet Soup, it is of course not
those packed powders from supermarket. Cashew is grinded into powder by
rock grinder.
Average spending is not high, it is only about $120. It should be
about $300 or more in the downtown. It is not only a leisure outing, but
also a palatable complete ending in Tai O.
