Pork
Chop Bun is one of the signature items in Ka Fung. We must order this
item in our first patron. It takes time for the preparation.
The
bun should not be supplied by 'Garden Bakery", it should be sourced
from bakery nearby. The shape is not circular but oval. The texture is
neither too soft nor hard.
Pork
chop is the soul of this bun and this cha chaan teng. No meat
tenderizer has been added. The colour and texture are therefore very
natural. We appreciate their conscience very much. Of course, this is
also a gimmick of marketing. Pork chop is juicy and very tasty. It
should have been marinated for a period before cooking. There are two
slices of tomato at the bottom. It serves to be the signature item of Ka
Fung. Next time, we may try rice with pork chop and curry sauce. In our
observation, it should also be a top selling item.

We
are pleased to have the chance to patron Ka Fung Cha Chaan Teng. Ka
Fung is a typical cha chaan teng, in view of food presentation, service,
layout and others.
We
order pork chop bun and milk with tea. Average spending is twenty five
dollars. We are pleased to have waited for more than five minutes before
the buns are served to us, implying (or foolishly think in this way)
that the buns are freshly prepared for us. Yes, it is true. When they
are served to us, the buns have been baked and are very hot. Texture of
pork chop is not too tender, but later we realize that meat tenderizer
has not been added, for sure. Since meat texture and colour are both
very natural, completely different from those with meat tenderizer and
those from eateries claiming to have added no meat tenderizer (But in
reality meat tenderizer has been added after our mouth test. An example
is the famous one in Sheung Wan.). Taste is good and very delicious.
Pork chop bun deserves to be the signature item in Ka Fung. We have not
wasted our time in searching and waiting. We definitely would return for
other pork chop dishes, as we appreciate their belief and motive in
cooking and food preparation. Two thumbs up.
