Fried
chicken is very mouth-watering in appearance. It is not roasted in
advance. Chicken is fresh and not chilled. There is no need to use those
words, like juicy, bouncy, chewy, delicious and rich in chicken flavor,
to describe.
Deep-fried Beancurd Sheet Roll is vegetarian item.Taro Roll is also deep-fried with high quality. We can find no trace of oil on the plate.
Sweet & Sour Spare-ribs.
Tofu and Vegetarian Thick Soup is also yummy. We do not find any taste of msg.
This is very palatable vegetable. It is fried with Salty Shrimp Paste.
Cashew
Sweet Soup is unexpectedly delectable. It is creamy and not too sweet,
we can still sense the granulated cashew. It is a must to order, in
addition to the chicken above.

We
take this opportunity to hike in the Lantau before hot summer. After
about 3.5 hours hiking, it is of course the time to eat. In our mind,
there are two restaurants with quality in the Lantau. One is Hoi Wan,
and the rest is Siu Kee Yuen (it is the one we dine today).
Siu
Kee Yuen (SKY) basically has no decoration. It is also not our target
in this dining. Though it is located in the Lantau, air-conditioning is
available. We order 5 dishes and dessert, average spending is about $85.
We surely would order the chicken, cashew sweet soup and deep-fried
stuff. Normally, after energy-consumption hiking and when we are hungry,
our expectation on food would not be so high. In SKY, its food quality
surely exceeds our expectation and all dishes (particularly the
signature dishes) are delicious.
We
also notice nuns are also dining at the table next to us. We do
appreciate there is such a Chinese restaurant serving quality and
vegetarian dishes in Tai O. We have no hesitation to recommend Siu Kee
Yuen to be your target in next Lantau visit.
