Hang Heung Cake Shop is a traditional shop of Chinese cake in Hong Kong. Its main shop is located at Castle Peak Road, Yuen Long. Hang Heung was founded in 1920, it has a history of 95 years. It was formerly a tea house. But the tea house was shut down in 1980s.
It is famous for the wife cake, moon cake and bridal cake. In its factory, the daily production of wife cake is about 25,000 pieces. A visit of the factory can be recorded before.
The main shop has been renovated in 2013. Now it looks very trendy. Together with young salesmen and salesladies, Hang Heung is going to target its position to be a cake shop of the 21st century.
The signature item - wife cake is placed in the showcase near the main entrance.
Egg roll is very popular now, it tries the best to promote the same, in order to share the market.
Wife cake is priced at HK$7 per piece. The presentation is very attractive, but the cakes displayed in such a way are cold. This cannot enhance the overall quality of cakes.
