There is always a long queue at the New Keung Kee BBQ Restaurant on Shanghai Street in Jordan during lunch and evening. Why?
I have seen long queues many times. I really want to know if it is because the taste is good, the price is very reasonable, or the public has low requirements? You can learn some facts by doing interviews, but I think if you want to know them first-hand, you have to experience them yourself.
One day, I came here at noon to try it out. Oh, it turns out that New Keung Kee no longer provides dine-in services, and only offers take-out.
I asked the uncle in front of me why there were so many people, and he said it was low price. I heard this uncle ordered the barbecued pork and Char Siu rice, so I followed. It turned out to be 30 dollars, and there was also a today soup.
I can only sit down in a nearby park. The portion of BBQ rice is normal, but I can't finish it. The char siu does not have tendons, it's all good parts.
The roasted pork is certainly not the belly part. In fact, I think 30 dollars is very reasonable. The char siu and roasted pork tasted normal, without any strange smell or porky taste.
The roasted pork had a crispy skin, which I had never thought of or expected, and it was still warm. The quality was achieved because of the high turnover.
For the today soup, there is pork, chicken feet, and a lot of ginger, so it has a strong ginger flavor. The boss really knows how to eat.
For 30 dollars, with such quality of BBQ rice and soup, it's no wonder there are long queues all day long.
