Sailing landmark at Aberdeen Promenade
By 2011, it was announced that it would spend HK$250 million to improve the facilities on the waterfront of Aberdeen and Ap Lei Chau to enhance the attractiveness of the tourism industry, including transforming the existing observation deck of the waterfront park into a sailing ship-shaped building, adding a number of Sails with perspective effects serve as landmarks on the seashore and create a traditional fishing port atmosphere. They also add sampan seats and sculptures, improve the existing gazebos and fitness areas, build boardwalks, set up seats and sculptures along the way, and set up outdoor performance venues and the Tourist Information Center to introduce the history of the Aberdeen fishing port, and improve the top-covering facilities of the ship boarding and landing along the Kwun Hoi Path, and add public toilets nearby.
Regardless of whether the goal is achieved or not, the current facilities are more popular with citizens than before, and have more characteristics of a fishing port.
