Castle Peak Beach was closed in 1981 due to serious water pollution. With the decline of the industry in Tuen Mun, the government has gone through a number of improvement measures, including excavating the silt on the seabed, etc. Since 1992, the water quality of Castle Peak Bay has been greatly improved, to "Normal" level beach. On June 1, 2005, it reopened for swimmers, and the average water quality of the beach reached the second level. In 2007, the water quality of Castle Peak Beach was listed as the first "good" class.
There are many bays and beaches in Tuen Mun, one of which is Castle Peak Beach, which is not very big and has a narrow sandy beach.
It should be good to come to bask in the sun. But if you swim, the quality of the seawater will not be good enough.
