When A left, she said thank you to the staff, but the staff did not make any response.

Friend A is doing marketing. One day, A met with a company owner and knew that they had a flagship store in the downtown area, so she specially arranged to visit.
A told me that when she went to the downtown mall, it was noon, and the mall was crowded, but it was not very crowded. A pretended to be a guest to see the company's products. The middle-aged female employee was very enthusiastic at the beginning and took the initiative to chat with A, answering questions. The staff also took the initiative to invite A to look inside and introduced her to more products.
After that, A looks at the products near the entrance of the shop. Maybe the female staff felt that A didn't intend to make any purchase, and her appearance and reaction changed.

When A left, she said thank you to the staff, but the staff did not make any response
(maybe the staff couldn't hear it, A said this probability was low and less likely). She didn't reply a word, and pretended not to be able to hear it. At the time of speaking "thank you", there were no other customers in the shop.
A said that this female staff should be more than 40 years old, and is engaged in sales and marketing. Customers may not necessarily buy things as soon as they come in. If they don't buy, they just look at it. What's wrong? She doesn't even know that the customer may come back to buy it later, or come to buy it next time.
You do such a rude reaction, of course, you can do whatever you want. But if A said something to the employee's boss, the employee may lose her job.
I asked if A would tell the boss about her poor and strange attitude, and A said not yet and she would not make any complaint.
