More experience in Myanmar

In our visit to Myanmar in 2010, we have met quite a lot of local burmese. Most of them are quite nice and amiable.

But a male local Burmese English teacher in a monastary at Nyaung Shwe (near Inle Lake), who can speak in relatively better English, claims that he can arrange a morning tour to a scenic spot for us and other foreign visitors at a reasonable price. His wife would prepare a local lunch meal for us after the tour. We are lucky that we have not committed anything and paid money to him. We finally realize he is in fact a liar. He has charged us about 40% higher in price for the same tour (we finally have not joined any such tour in the trip). We also do not have confidence that he will turn up to be our tour guide next morning. What is more, he has mentioned many times we should not disclose our low price to other visitors in the tour. This is for sure a good lesson to us though we have lost nothing. We should not believe in anybody easily in the street, no matter whether we are in Hong Kong, Myanmar or anywhere in the world, particularly this, that, and that place ... .
