Mandalay
is the second largest city in Myanmar. It is in the middle of Myanmar
and on the east coast of Ayeyarwaddy River. The city streets are laid
out on a grid system and numbered from north to south and east to west.
There are about 1.3 million population in Mandalay.
On
the day to visit Mingun, since we are late and cannot take the boat at
the jetty. We would therefore spend some time to loiter near the jetty,
and notice there are deliverymen working at the pier.

The pier is very simple. Ferry is not very large in size, it is quite like and similar to the ferry of Star Ferry in Hong Kong.

The small boats are for delivering passengers between the banks.

Before the start of delivery, these colored sticks have to be counted and marked.

Each deliveryman would have a large bag of rice on his back, together with a colored stick.

They all wear slipper.

Fat guys are not commonly found in Myanmar.

Lorries are waiting for them at the carpark. Colored sticks are placed on the ground.

Another PIC would count the total number of colored sticks, it is the evidence of payroll.
