Banaue, in the middle of Luzon Island, is widely known as the site of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Banaue Rice Terraces. Rice terraces are commonly referred to by Pilipinos as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Banaue is the only place in the Philippines awarded the Gold Medal in Hillman Wonders of the World - Philippines Wonder Guide. Only 1% of the world's 100,000 travel attractions win gold, silver or bronze medal in Hillman Wonders of the World. In the Philippines, even Boracay and Intramuros can only get a Honorable Mention (a travel attraction can get neither gold, silver nor bronze medal).
From the balcony, we can have view of the rice terraces next to Banaue Trade Center. But if you stay in hostels at the other side of the street, no rice terraces will be available. These rice terraces should be classified in the preliminary stage. There are more beautiful ones to be posted later.
