Imbayah Restaurant in Banaue Hotel (since 1974) is a quality restaurant in the Philippines. Decoration, lighting, table setting and details on table are pleasing and comfortable.
It is in fact a restaurant owned and operated by the Philippines Government.
Pinakbet is a typical dish in the north of the Philippines. String bean, pumpkin, green cucumber, egg plant and tomato are cooked with salted shrimp paste. It is still a little bit salty. We are pleased to try this Filipino traditional dish in Banaue.
'Chicken Piccata w/ Spaghetti' is nicely presented. There is also a mouth-watering flavor of chicken and batter.
Cheese is stuffed in chicken breast. It is a very high quality item in the meal.
Chiffon Cake has a fluffy texture and is delicious.
Creme Caramel, on the other hand, is average only. To compare, we like the cake in the above more.
Orange and Mango Juices
Banaue Hotel & Youth Hostel has 36 years history, in 2010. It is still a place for vacation and meeting by government officials.

Remarks: -
Banaue Hotel is the largest and only hotel in Banaue. In fact, others should be guest houses, strictly speaking. We learn the best restaurant in Banaue should be in Banaue Hotel. We of course would not miss the chance to have a try.
"Originally, the restaurant is fully booked for a government function. But the function has been cancelled suddenly. You two would be the only diners in our restaurant tonight." the waitress said. We are pleased and surprised we are the only diners in the restaurant. Or, we think in the other way round. We are the honorable guests to Banaue Hotel, they reject all other booking and only entertain us tonight.
Returning back to the meal, we order two dishes, drinks and desserts. Average spending is Hong Kong dollar sixty only. We would like to praise that the chicken piccata is very palatable and others are of high quality alike. The chef tonight has a very high level of cooking skill, which is comparable to those quality chefs in Hong Kong.
