Most eateries in Taling Chan Floating Market are on floating platform. This is taken before lunchtime. In lunchtime, all tables are occupied. The atmosphere is very cheerful and enticing.
The open kitchens are on boats. Grilled fish and fresh seafood are displayed around the chef.
Grilled Fish is not small and in fact there is no smaller choice. The meat is fresh and juicy. Together with the sauces, we like it very much.
Fried Mushrooms are mixed with onion, tomato, peanut and sweet & sour sauce. It is a typical local dish.
Boiled Mussels are fresh for sure. Without dipping any sauce, we can still sense and taste the freshness.
Though they are cooking on the boat, they would not throw rubbish or non biodegradable food stuffs into the river. Fishes are swimming freely, bravely and naughtly in the river. In fact, fishing is not allowed in all rivers in Bangkok. Fishes are confident that they would not be caught and therefore they swim freely in river.

Remarks: Before we arrive at Taling Chan, we only expect there should be a lot of food stalls, selling all kinds of traditional Thai foods and snacks. We really do not have an expectation in our mind that there are quite a lot of restaurants on floating platform. Though they cook and serve customers in the river, there is no disgusting feeling to us. They take care of hygiene very much and would not throw rubbish into the river. In this connection, a lot of fish swim freely in the river.

We arbitrarily select an eatery and there are in fact not too many diners before lunchtime. But thereafter, all stalls are full. Besides tourists, there are many local diners. We order three dishes and drinks. We are thrilled to have the chance to try local Thai foods in such a floating market. Though the foods are not all moreish, it is anyway quite good in taste. Particularly we can dine with other locals on the floating platform and we can try authentic local Thai cuisine.
It is for sure a fun and memorable experience to dine in Taling Chan Floating Market, in view of food, juice, snacks and the river cruise.
