In Bangkok, apart from relaxing, shopping and sight-seeing, the most important missions for us are to eat, eat and eat. In my experience, the most impressive foods should be those authentic Thai snacks in the street. Most of them are delicious and very delicious, but at a very reasonable price only. Herebelow are photos of some stuffs we have the luck to meet and eat. There is a prerequisite for me to buy snacks in the street. At least it is clean enough in my eyes or the snacks have been grilled, fried, boiled or steamed or packed. I would not buy those stuffs idle in the air for a long time and really do not want to get sick in any travel.
Before the snacks journey, do you know what it is? The photo is for record only, we have not bought and tried it anyway.
Grilled Glutinuous Rice w/ Banana @7 Bahts. Banana pieces and glutinuous rice are perfect match and it is full of Thai flavour.
It is a delicious Thai snack. This is available in floating market. You are highly recommended not to take any breakfast in hotel or in the street. Or, you will regret when you are in the floating market. But not all snacks here are from the floating market(s).
Baby Fried Baguet is too lovely. It is of course for eating with congee.
Deep-fried Rice Vermicelli is only a snack from food materials of low cost, it is very delicious. When we have nothing to do and do not know what to do, it is suggested to buy a plastic bag of this stuff. But suddenly, the whole bag of stuff is eaten.
When you see how the spicy stuff is fried in the wok, it would be more delicious.
Deep-fried Potato Balls, Banana and .... .
Deep-fried Pork. The pork has been marinated for quite a long time. It is crispy on surface and juicy inside. No meat tenderizer has been added. This is sold by a food stall in Maharaj Market.
Deep-fried Spareribs and Chicken Wings. The chicken wing is more and more delicious than those from KFC, for sure.
Just from the outlook, the Grilled Chicken Skewer is yummy.
Grilled Chicken Leg is also delectable.
Mango w/ Glutinuous Rice. Mango is just and naturally ripen. We have asked him to prepare a new set for us, those shown here may have been aired for a period.
Lemongrass Juice is not too sweet. Of course, it is rich in lemongrass flavour.
Rice w/ Pork is bought in a local food court. The pork is deboned and the taste is not too strong and concentrated. This is the authentic Thai flavour we are looking for. The price should be about 40 Bahts.
Rice Noodle w/ Cha Siu & Fish Meat in Soup.
'Rice Vermicelli with Chicken in Soup' is authentic enough, we like the reddish brown sauce.
Orange Juice looks artificial. But this colour is nice and alluring. It is for sure moreish to me. Initially I do not believe it is 100% natural orange juice.
From this picture, it proves that the juices are 100% natural. The lady squeezes juice by a machine manually. There are two prices, 10 and 25 Bahts. In tourist areas (but not Siam Paragon and Central World ), it will be priced at 15 and 30 Bahts. We have tried all kinds of such natural juice (orange, carrot, beetroot and mixed fruits) in the travel. All are mouth-watering and tasty. It is a must item to drink in Bangkok.
Remarks: This is the last record of Bangkok travel in February 2010. Hope to visit Thailand again in nearest future.
