Signature
Pineapple Bun is freshly baked and it is still hot enough. The topping
is crispy. Nearly each patron would order it. Even though it is one of
the signature items in Mrs. Wah, it is anyway not some impressive as
we expect beforehand. Too much baking powder has been added, resulting that the bun is very
light in weight. This of course can reduce the cost of flour used in
each bun. I am so sorry that freshly baked pineapple bun of much higher
quality can be found elsewhere.

This is a Strengthened Version Pineapple Bun. Tomato, pan-fried egg and a piece of butter are sandwiched.

Hot
Milk Tea is also said to be another signature. It is also not thick
enough, and overall flavour of tea leaves is also good enough. We have
tried a lot of milk tea in different districts recently. Some (just
some) are really very outstanding, but most are just so so or average. Famed eateries are
not necessarily able to serve good and impressive milk tea, so is Mrs.
Wah.

To queue up is a must, as there is no other eatery with similar fame
and serving the similar food stuffs. You have no right to choose your
seats, all are allocted by the cafe.

After finishing our light meal, there is a queue of about fifty persons outside.

We
have not planned to try here beforehand. But it is said that its
pineapple bun is famous and outstanding. We therefore would like to have
a try in Ping Shan today. The café is not a big one, it is in fact on
the ground floor in a residential block, serving about forty diners at the same time.
Since
it is too famous and there should be no other cafes and restaurants of
such level in the vicinity, it is therefore crowded and to queue up is a
must for most diners. Everybody has to follow instructions and
arrangements. Though we are not hungry, we order drinks and pineapple buns.
The
signature pineapple buns are delicious and most diners should like it
very much. There are both original and supreme pineapple buns in the
menu. The supreme pineapple bun is the enhanced version of original
pineapple bun. Butter, pan-fried egg and tomato piece are sandwiched.
The buns are freshly baked and topping is very crispy. But self-raising
flour is in relatively high proportion, the bun is of normal size and
shape, but the flour used can be reduced, mainly for cost saving and
earning more, I guess. Anyway, the bun can be further improved in all aspects.
Maybe, they are too busy, they may have no time to eradicate small
ants in the café. It is anyway a nice experience to try the pineapple
bun in Ping Shan.
