Wing
Wah is well known in Wanchai for its shrimp wonton noodle. Today, I
struggle to eat noodle or congee in Wing Wah, as every time I would try
wonton noodle. I finally decide to order shrimp wonton noodle again. It
is because I do not frequent Wing Wah, and I also do not want to regret
thereafter if I do not order wonton noodle.
The noodle is
contained in a bowl of about 5 inches in diameter. There are totally 5
pieces of shrimp wonton; each piece has size of less than 1.5 inches.
Needless to say, the shrimp wonton is still impeccable , delectable, and
of well-balanced taste. After eating all the wontons, I query whether I
have eaten 4 or 5 pieces. Maybe, the wonton is too delicious that I
forget how many pieces I have eaten. The noodle here is the type of
typical wonton noodle, and of course, it is not “Fine egg noodle”.
When
I ask the lady boss what the soup ingredients are, she said the
ingredients include dried fish, pig bone and old chicken . This enables
the soup to have a strong flavor of chicken. At a result, there is only a
small amount of soup to be left in the bowl.
Taste of shrimp
wonton noodle in Wing Wah can get nearly full marks . Wing Wah is the
noodle shop, which serves one of the best wonton noodles in Hong Kong.
In view of the price at $24 and portion, it is a bit expensive. To be a
wonton lover, we need to pay this premium price to maintain the
existence of a good noodle shop. Don’t you agree?
P.S. Apart from
the best food materials, super cooking and food preparation skills,
Wing Wah has also added "roasted pig oil" to each bowl of noodle. This
is the secret of Wing Wah shrimp wonton noodle. When we bring testers to
compare the quality of shrimp wonton noodle between Wing Wah and Chi
Kee (in Causeway Bay), it is
unanimous that Wing Wah is the best. Frankly, Wing Wah is long the King
of shrimp wonton noodle in Hong Kong in my mind.
