After
hiking, afternoon teatime has already passed. At 1645, it seems that it
is too early to have dinner. Finally, we choose Welcome Garden. A
friend has dinned here before and found that the food quality was
acceptable. In addition, the restaurant layout is nice.
From the
menu on the table, there are still special-priced rice and noodle at $28
each (from 1130 to 1700). We ordered 2 plates of fried rice (Stir-fried
rice with pineapple 菠蘿炒飯and Stir-fried rice in salted shrimp sauce
蝦醬炒飯), one Stir-fried Noodle with julienned pork 肉絲炒麵, Stir-fried Hefan
with beef 干炒牛河, Rice with spicy salt deep fried pork chop 椒鹽豬排飯, and a
plate of fried vegetable with garlic.
“Stir-fried rice with
pineapple” is normal, and we do not expect much at such price.
“Stir-fried rice in salted shrimp sauce” is not ok. There is a special
smell that is the result of cooking the rice in an unclean wok. There is
the same problem to “Stir-fried Hefen with beef”. In addition, the beef
is not fresh enough, this results in another special unpleasant smell.
“Rice with spicy salt deep fried pork chop”, ‘Fried vegetable with
garlic” and the vegetable are normal in everything and of course
not-outstanding.
Under such circumstances, we inform the waitress
that the foods are not ok. She immediately takes away them. Finally,
the kitchen still prepares another dish of “Stir-Fried Hefen with beef”,
but cancels a fried rice.
This is the poorest restaurant we meet
in these years in Hong Kong. Food quality is below average, though the
price of rice and noodle are only at $28 each. We in fact have eaten a
portion of the foods only. What we can do is to blacklist this
restaurant forever. Luckily, we do not have any bad feeling physically.
