In
Tai Mei Tuk, restaurants of various cuisines are available now. A
friend suggests having an early dinner in Mali-bu. After screening the
menu, we found that the 2 persons, 4 persons or 6 persons dinner sets
are not really good choices. The set price is in fact the same as if we
order them separately. We think that the boss should not be marketing
person. If he is, he should be a stupid marketing person.
We
order Satay (4 chicken, 4 pork, 4 beef), a small pot of green curry
chicken, Stir Fried Chinese Kale with salty fish, Baked rice with
seafood and Taro ($58), and Fried Broccoli with Prawn paste ($45). The
bill is $300 (average per head is $50).
Satay sauce is delicious,
but the beef is as dry as Jerky beef. Green curry chicken is always
tasty in any Thai restaurant, though it is the first time for us to try
here. Baked rice with seafood and Taro is wrongly named. It should be
fried instead of baked. It is better to change the name to “Fried rice
with seafood and Taro”.
Overall performance in Mali-bu is above
average. Service is quite attentive. Hygiene is good. But we do not know
why the Thai restaurant (called Wan Wah) next to Mali-bu is very much
crowded. Maybe, next time, we need to try that one.
