Pan-fried oyster cake has no surplus oil on the plate.
Braised sea cucumber with goose legsis suggested to eat with plain rice. Taste is better than the appearance.
Fried Kale with dry fish is not oily and is in attractive vivid green colour.
Shun Kee has no other branch, other than the one in Kowloon City.

At
2000, including us, there are totally 2 tables of diners. We ask the
waitress (she should be the daughter of owner, i.e the Princess) the
reason why there are not many diners, she replies that the airport has
been relocated and in winter time diners prefer hot pot to Chiu Chow
food. Since there are not many diners tonight, for health sake, it is
better to order those foods requiring the process of cooking, rather
than those hanging marinated goose and meats.
We order 3 dishes,
including Braised sea cucumber with goose legs, Fried Kale with dry
fish, and Pan-fried oyster cake. The bill is $165 (average per head is
$83).
"Braised sea cucumber with goose legs" is served in Chinese
pot. Sea cucumber slices, mushrooms and goose legs are cooked in oyster
sauce. Taste is all right and it is better to eat with plain rice. In
“Fried Kale with dry fish”, there are several small pieces of dry fish.
Kale (chopped) is cooked with a vivid green color, which is good to
appetite. “Pan-fried oyster cake” should be a good choice. It is
pan-fried and there is no surplus oil on the plate. In fact, the foods
here are all not oily and salty. Such cooking attitude should be praised
and supported, and learnt by those rubbish restaurants.
In the
very beginning, 2 small cups of Chiu Chow tea are served to each diner.
This is the tradition in Chiu Chow restaurant. Shun Kee is a
family-styled restaurant. Though there is no splendid decoration, the
restaurant is clean, neat and tidy. The waitress is attentive, polite,
and refills tea regularly and frequently. Since there are not many
diners (before we leave, there are totally 3 tables of diners), the
restaurant is really not noisy. I am afraid Shun Kee would close down
because there are not enough diners. It is therefore better to try in
Shun Kee as soon as possible, such foods at such price with such manner
in such not-noisy restaurant are not commonly found.
