We
are attracted by the advertisement in Magazine, that a 6-persons Hong
Kong style wedding dinner cost HK$666 only. We booked a table for 6 one
day in advance. The receptionist repeatedly informed us the time limit
for dinner would be 2 hours only , counting from the first minute the table was allotted to diners.

We
then arrived before 19:30 on a Tuesday night and ordered the advertised
“Welcome dinner”. In fact, the name had no implication on the food
quality and style, it was only an arbitrary name, I guess. As mentioned
before, the dinner
set was exactly like a Hong Kong style wedding dinner, including
“roasted baby pig”, “scallops with vegetables”, “fried seafood rolls”,
“broccoli in dry scallop sauce”, “shark fin thick soup”, “sea cucumber
and duck
feet in abalone sauce”, “steamed fresh grouper", “deep fried chicken
(half)”, “glutinous rice fried with preserved meat”, “fried noodle”, and
“dessert and fruits”. A bottle of Heineken and a jar of fresh watermelon juice are also included in the dinner set.

What
we want to praise this restaurant is that food portion, variety, food
taste, service, and price are really too attractive. Food portion has
not yet been reduced because of the promotion price. The variety is
exactly the same as that for wedding dinner .
Food is fresh and of good taste. The grouper is a fresh fish. Service
level was very high, this should be the service style of Tack Hsin. The
waiter and waitress would not look down on us because we ordered this
low-priced dinner set.
Fried glutinous rice is not oily and very tasty. Red bean paste is not
too sweet. Fruits include water melon and Hami melon. Total bill amount
is only $666. Average is $111 per person. There is no tea charge (which
should be at
least $8 each during yum cha period), 10% service charge and any other
charges. One not-good point I want to mention is that the shark fin
thick soup has only small amount of shark fin, and this is expected and
understandable.

This
special price $666 6-persons dinner set is available from Monday to
Thursday, it is $1,333 for a table of 12. On Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, the price will be changed to $833 per half table, and $1,666 per
table. For VIP room, additional $600 will be charged. This dinner set is only a
promotional item. Whether the set is still available when you dine in
Tack Hsin next time is dependent on your luck. Good luck!
