We
each can have 2 small bowls of "White Pepper, Pig Stomach &
Preserved Vegetable in Soup", the pepper flavor is not strong enough.
The best soup should be the one in Nam Kee in Kowloon City.
Shrimps in “Deep Fried Shrimp with Salt & Pepper” are surely
fresh, this gives us a small surprise. We all like this dish very much.
We treat “Pan Fried Egg Paste with Bitter Gourd and Small Fish” as snack only. Before long, the whole cake disappears.
Deep Fried Ube Paste is not oily. We admire the cooking skill very much.
Pan Fried Oyster Cake is of course delectable as well.
Braised Oysters in Ginger & Green Onion is a bit salty only. Taste
is also good. There are a lot of ginger and green onions, which further
enhance the overall taste.

Carrianna (Chiu Chow) Restaurant 佳寧娜 1/F, 151 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong. (6 minutes walk from MTR
Wanchai Station Exit A1 or from MTR Causeway Bay Station Exit A) 香港灣仔告士打道151號1樓 Tel: 25111282 Opening Hours: Daily Style: Chiu Chow Average spending: $150 Date: April 2007
Carrianna
is a restaurant with quite long history in my mind. I heard of
Carrianna when I was very young. I do not have chance to have lunch or
dinner so far. Carrianna gives us a feeling that it should be a
restaurant of high average spending . Tables are not remotely aligned, but it does not give a packed feeling, as there are really not many diners at night.
Before
we have confidence in a restaurant, it is usual for us to order the
dinner set. There are quite a lot of costly dinner sets, which mainly
include Shark Fin in Thick Soup. Since we have 4 persons, we order a
dinner set for 4 at $438. The bill is $588 (average per head $147).
From
the behavior and manner of waitresses and waiters, there should be a
lot of diners in lunchtime. At night, the restaurant is only 30% full,
resulting that the restaurant is not noisy, and service is good. Food
quality of each dish is good. Food materials (for example, the shrimp) are fresh enough. Foods
are not oily. Only one complaint is about Braised Oysters in Ginger
& Green Onion, which is a little bit salty. We would surely try more
expensive dishes next time.
