Sweet & Sour Pork with Bell Pepper is one of the signature dishes
in HKUAA. The pork is slightly crispy on surface, but is still juicy.
Sweet and sour tastes are well balanced. It is an item with high marks.
Fried Chicken with Black Bean (Half bird). The taste of black bean is
outstanding, but not salty. Green onion and black mushroom are members
to augment the overall taste. There is no extra oil on the plate.
Grouper Fillet with Corn Sauce
Fried Broccoli with Garlic Sauce
Vegetable, Preserved Egg and Sliced Fish in Soup is refreshing. It
is quite strange the fish meat in soup is still intact, but the soup is
good in taste.

Whenever
we are in D'Aguilar Street, we decide to try in HKUAA next time. We
have not done so so far. HKUAA is not a too small restaurant, it has
about 14 tables altogether. Layout of HKUAA is really like a canteen; no good decoration should be expected.
We
order 5 dishes; the bill is $580 (average per head $116). We are
delighted that food taste is very good. The spirit of Chinese cookery is
highlighted in its foods. Foods are not oily as well. All plates are
empty at the end. We at the moment realize the reason why HKUAA is always crowded and fully booked.
But
some of us feel pain in the head before long. We know that LARGE AMOUNT
of MSG has been added to the foods. We are quite disappointed the good
taste is not mainly because of cooking skill, but with the help of
artificial flavoring. We are sorry that it will not be in our re-try list.
