Miso Ramen
$58 is not in very large portion, but it is already enough to me. The
soup is quite tasty but not to an extent that it is very tasty. I like
this not very tasty ramen soup. Very limited amount of msg should have
been added to the soup, if any. Ramen is al dente and should have
attained the best quality available.
There are two large pieces of Cha Siu (Japanese pork slices).
Soft-boiled
egg should be one of the signature items in Yachiyo. It is 85% fully
boiled. A large portion of egg yolk and a small portion of egg white are
still in liquefied state. The egg should have been boiled slowly in
marinated sauce, resulting in such high quality. It is an item you must
try.
Pumpkin Ice Cream $38
Pumpkin Ice Cream is contained
in a small real pumpkin of 4 inches diameter. This is not the ice cream
display in my expectation. I only expect there are 2 balls of ice cream
on a plate, it is surely a surprise to me. I have asked the boss whether
the pumpkin ice cream is also from Milk Top, he says “no”. In my memory
and experience, Milk Top should have no pumpkin taste. My overall grade
to this ice cream is 5/5.
The ice cream is pale yellow in color.
There is not much air inside ice cream, which is therefore not too
soft. The portion is not small in addition. Apart from the enticing
pumpkin flavor, there is also milk flavor. If you know where to buy this
pumpkin ice cream in Hong Kong or Tokyo, please inform. Thanks in
advance.
You now know the total volume of ice cream eaten by me. I am very satisfied. This ramen meal comes to a complete ending.
Pickles - green pea and menma (baby bamboo).

Yachiyo
Ramen (YR) is a small-sized restaurant with Japanese modern decoration,
and should be run by several local middle-aged young men. Apart from
ramen, it also serves snack, Japanese beer & ice cream.
A
miso ramen and a pumpkin ice cream are ordered, the bill is $106. It is
heartening that very limited amount of msg should have been added to the
soup, if any. In fact, I do not feel thirsty thereafter. Ramen texture
is al dente. Soft-boiled egg is particularly in high quality. Ice cream
is normally from Milk Top, but I coincidently order a pumpkin ice cream
which is the only one not from Milk Top. In this meal, ramen and soup
are good (it is not in the top category in my experience), soft-boiled
egg and pumpkin ice cream are outstanding. When I ask the boss whether
the ice cream is available in Hong Kong Japanese supermarkets, he
refuses to supply answer (I understand that this is commercial secret).
At the end of this piece of blog, if I ask you not to try in YR, I guess
you would not accept.
