Marco Rafts (Ma Gor Rafts 馬哥魚排) is located at Yung Shue O (榕樹澳), Sai Kung, New Territories.
It takes about 2 minutes from the pier to Marco Rafts by the boat in blue. She is Mrs. Ma.
Marco Rafts can accommodate ~ 40 persons at the same time.
Suddenly, there are thunderstorm and lightning for about an hour. We hide under the shelter.
A sea of serenity resumes, thereafter.
A big bowl of congee with fish and preserved vegetables.
There
is a piece of White Spotted Rabbitfish (泥蜢). No msg has been added to
the congee, we can taste the natural flavor of rice and fish. Fish meat
is fresh and tender. It is a gift to savor congee of such high quality and countrified flavor . This bowl of congee is surely
superior to most of those congee K and congee H on Hong Kong Island.
After cleaning the mussels, they are boiled in plain water. No other
seasonings are needed. There are totally 3 buckets of mussel. Mrs. Ma is
too generous to us.
Mussel
is exceptionally fresh . Such cooking method is only suitable for fresh
mussel. If not, garlic paste or preserved black bean paste would /
should be added . It is difficult to tell how fresh and natural the
taste of mussel is. The mussel is not tough in addition.
Vermicelli is fried with cha siu and luncheon meat. It is not greasy. It is of course a good companion to eat with congee.
Day Fishing is now $100 per head, normally including a bowl of instant
noodle only. The above congee, mussel and fried vermicelli are
specially offered to us at free by Mrs. Ma, because of the relation
between the organizer and Mrs. Ma.

Yung Shue O is a village situated on the West Sai Kung Peninsula, off
from Sai Sha Road but facing the clam Three Fathoms Cove (Kei Ling Ha
Hoi 企嶺下海). With one side the green country park and the other side the sea, the scene is very nice.
5. Boat connection to rafts would be arranged and included.
6. Bait, fishing tackle and fishing gear are better to be prepared by participants.
On
a sunny day, we arrange to have a day on rafts (魚排) in Sai Kung, New
Territories. Today temperature in Marco Rafts (Ma Gor Rafts 馬哥魚排) is
about 38 degree Celsius. But it is not too hot at all as there is breeze from all directions.
On
the raft, apart from fishing, we can do whatever you like (BBQ or
mahjong or …). Normally, the expense per head is $100 per head,
including a bowl of instant noodle. Since we get a special treatment by
Mrs. Ma (because
of the relation between Mrs. Ma and the organizer), we have congee,
fried Vermicelli, vegetable and mussels at free (these are not enjoyed
in normal circumstances). Food taste is natural, fresh and countrified .
It is a delightful outing to experience sunny day and heavy rain on the raft. It is of course an enjoyable day on Marco Rafts.
