Steamed Small Grouper $110 is surely caught from the sea, its flesh is
bouncy and not tough. We have not eaten fish meat of such quality for a
long time. Fish length is about 8 inches.
'Fried Bombay-duck' is not greasy, we cannot find trace of oil on the
fish. The meat is of course very fresh and juicy . It becomes a
fantastic item to eat with beer.
'Baked
Fish Intestine w/ Egg' is one of the signature dishes in Harbour
Seafood Restaurant. Nearly every table would order it. The whole pot of
fish intestine and egg is deep fried in oil, resulting that the brown
upper surface is crispy. But the egg is not oily. This is much appreciated. There is no fishiness at all.
Harbour Seafood Restaurant is a local restaurant with no splendid
decoration. Apart from the dishes in the above photos, we also order
green vegetable, today soup (without msg), plain rice and beer.
This
boat restaurant is parked in Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter (near Aberdeen
shore) at night. It serves noodle in soup and glutinous rice. It
signature item should be roasted duck. There are about 10 persons in the
queue (on photo left). You may buy
take-away or dine in the Aberdeen Promenade nearby. FYI, I have never
tried them so far. As far as I know, 3 such boat restaurants (of course,
not the Jumbo Floating Restaurant in Sham Wan) would serve in the
typhoon shelter in daytime.

It
takes less time than we expect by minibus from Causeway Bay. Apleichau
is a small island and is now connected by bridge to Aberdeen. There are
several Chinese restaurants at Apleichau Main Street , we select Harbour
Seafood (HS). HS is not a big restaurant, it has no interior decoration, strictly speaking. Its
outlook is quite different for other Chinese restaurants. Most owners
would spend money in furnishing the restaurant (at least the outlook),
but it is not so for HS.
We
order 4 dishes and a soup (which has added no msg), the bill is $270
(average per head $90). HS is famous for seafood, we therefore only
order seafood. Seafood is fresh and good in quality. In addition to the sophisticated cooking skill, dishes of the best available quality are
served. Particularly for the small groupers, they are caught from the
sea and the meat is bouncy and not tough. You are recommended to have a
try.
