Fried
Rice w/ Sea Urchin $80 is claimed to be the signature dish in Hoi Ha.
Sea urchin is fried with egg and then with rice. Rice is of irregular
shape and not in good quality (this can be seen from the above). Rice is
too wet and has not been fried to the best condition. Sea urchin does
not have fishiness flavor. Overall comment is 'not good'. We are quite
disappointed with this signature fried rice. No matter whether this
signature fried rice with sea urchin is a rumour or not, it is suggested not to try in your next visit. $80 per plate is really not value for money.
Lettuce has a lovely green color, it has not yet been over-cooked.
Outdoor cafe is a relaxing spot in Autumn and Winter.
Hoi Ha, designated as one of Hong Kong first marine parks in July 1996, is also a water sports centre.
Hoi Ha Wan and Hoi Ha Village.

Remarks:
1) Hoi Ha Wan is one of the best coral dive sites accessible by
vehicle in Hong Kong . It is also a very popular place of photography
and night dive.
2) Signature dishes – Fried rice w/ Sea Urchin, Deep-fried Oyster Cake.
Sai
Kung is always a beautiful place of hiking and holiday travel to the
locals and tourists. After several hours physical exercise, it is time
to eat again in Hoi Ha Village. Hoi Ha Village is a small village, with
residents from local and overseas. There are only several small eateries, they offer basically similar
stuffs, namely soft drink, ice-cream, fried rice and noodle, instant
noodle in soup, pan-fried oyster cake and vegetables.
It
is said that Fried rice w/ sea urchin is famous and delicious in Hoi
Ha. We only order this rice, a plate of vegetable and drinks. The bill
is $135 (average per head $68). When the rice is served to us, we
already know that there should be something wrong. We cannot smell the
tasty flavor of fried rice. Each piece of rice is not in good shape,
implying that the rice is not in good quality. Rice is not dry enough,
this is a fundamental problem to fried rice. Or they should put the wet rice into the
micro-wave oven for a minute. It is surely a totally disappointing fried
rice.
