'Curry Rice with Cutlet Pork Chop' is not in small portion, for both Japanese rice and curry sauce.
Japanese
rice is good in quality and chewy. It is a perfect match with curry
sauce and cutlet pork chop. Curry sauce is of Japanese origin and thick
enough. Since the pork chop is not a quality one, it only has the
texture of pork chop . Though it is freshly deep-fried, the overall score of this rice is
above average only. But in such reasonable price of $60, it is already
value for money. This time we do not sense that meat tenderizer has been
added.
'Grilled Chicken Steak Rice Set' is served with pickles and miso soup.
When it is served to us, there is a very nice flavor of grilled
chicken and Japanese soy sauce. Though it is not a high priced food
material, it is anyway a delicious chicken steak.

There
are really too many quality authentic Japanese restaurants in TST.
Owing to keen competition, for the sake of survival, some Japanese
restaurants would price their dishes at a lower level. This would
inevitably sacrifice food material quality. But Japanese cooking style
can still be maintained.
Hokahoka is not a too small Japanese restaurant, we guess it can serve
60 diners at the same time. In view of the restaurant size in Hong Kong ,
Hokahoka should not be a small one. Its interior layout is also
decorated in Japanese style . There are also quite a lot of Japanese diners.
Unless
we have full confidence of a restaurant, we would not order too
expensive and a lot of items. We do not want to waste or do not want to
eat too much. Foods are for the purpose of enjoyment and not to be
ordered in surplus amount.
We this time order two rice sets only, grilled chicken and curry cutlet
pork chop. It takes about 10 minutes before the sets are served. In
aspect of food presentation, they are surely of Japanese origin. We
should therefore have confidence that food taste should not have been localized. This point has been confirmed
and proved to be correct when pork chop and chicken steak are put into
mouths. Next time, we should order more other snacks and authentic
dishes.
