Pan-fried Oyster Cake

Pan-fried Chive Dumpling is quite impressive in outlook, but its taste is average only. The skin is too thick.

'Sugar & Vinegar Noodles' is always tasty, if it is not oily and the surface is slightly brown and pan-fried.

Hau Folk is a restaurant with an outlook of last century and
old-fashioned interior. It should have more than 40 years history, I
guess. We specially arrange a dinner tonight to see how old-fashioned
the restaurant is and how tasty the foods are.
We
order six dishes only, the first dish is in fact a Chiu Chow platter.
Food portion is normal and not particularly generous. It is sure that
all dishes have been serving to diners in Kowloon City for a long time.
The old chefs should have no intention and do not know how to rejuvenate their dishes and
present the dishes in a stylish manner. Basically, there is no need for
them to have any change. What they need to do is to keep and preserve
everything in the restaurant.
Particularly
for the Chiu Chow platter, it is displayed in a special manner, with a
sculptured carrot bird. Such food presentation is not commonly available
in other restaurants in Hong Kong now. Frankly speaking, food taste is
not outstanding. Or, this should be their original Chiu Chow cuisine. We are delighted to have experience
of dining in this 'antique' restaurant. It is hoped that everything in
