'Congee
of Baby Oyster, Minced Pork and Seaweed' is better to be shared. It is
of normal size, but it is better to leave space for other dishes. This
is Chiu Chow style, congee means rice in soup. The taste is good and there is no trace of fishiness for the oyster.
'Braised
Swim-bladder w/ Vegetables' is nearly cooked to perfection. The bladder
is good in texture and it is also rich in gelatin and amino acid. Each
piece of bladder has fully absorbed the brown sauce - oyster sauce. The
vegetable - Chinese Celery ensures there is no fishiness for the whole dish.
Pan-fried Green Cucumber is a typical Chiu Chow dish. There are other
similar dishes but green cucumber is replaced. Cucumber pieces are not
too crunchy but chewy. It is of course good for eating with beer.
Braised Sea-fish is in an unexpectedly large portion. The fish is
pan-fried on both sides before it is cooked with miso sauce and Chinese
Celery.
Fish meat is tender and overall taste is not salty. We therefore have not ordered plain rice.

In Kowloon City, there are quite a lot of Chui Chow restaurants. But
we like Shun Kee more. It is not so crowded, pricing is reasonable. The
most important point is we seldom have disappointment on dishes.
We
order three dishes and a congee. Average spending is one hundred and
eighty. Normal spending is one hundred, we order a bit more this time.
Within our expectation, we are contented with food taste and portion.
The chef cooks each dish with patience and heart. There should be only one chef in the kitchen. We hope to
explore other dishes next time, we believe there should be more
delicious dishes in the menu.
