Steamed Eggplant is a healthy and delectable appetizer. It has not yet been fried.
Cold
Bitter Gourd is in fact not bitter at all. Small amount of sesame oil
has been added. It is a bit crunchy. These two vegetarian appetizers are
both of good quality.
We can savour the natural and original flavour of food materials in this msg-free Today Soup.
Braised Fish w/ Beancurd Sheet is average, to compare with other dishes.
This
'Braised Spareribs in Black Vinegar & Brown Sugar' is one of the
signature dishes. No meat tenderizer has been added. The portion is
quite generous.
'Steamed Glutinous Rice w/ Fresh Crab' is the
best item in the meal. But they do not think so. Crab is really fresh,
glutinous rice has absorbed the natural flavour of crab. Each piece of
rice is cooked to perfection. The brown stuff on the top is deep-fried
garlic. This is much appreciated.

We
are pleased to have booked a table for dinner tonight. There is no big
difference in the interior from other Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong,
but it is not so packed and gives us a much better first impression. Kum
Tao Heen is renowned for its food quality, no msg and meat tenderizer
are added to all dishes and soups. This is the main reason for us to
dine in Kum Tao Heen tonight.
We order six items tonight, namely
two vegetarian appetizers, soup, two main dishes and steamed glutinous
rice. Except the braised fish which is a bit average, all other items
are of good or high quality. Especially for the steamed glutinous rice
with fresh crab, it is very palatable and delicious. It is nearly cooked
to perfection. You are recommended to have a try.
