'Pan-fried Vegetarian Goose' is served when it is very hot, further enhancing its flavor.
Roasted
Duck is served with Chinese pan-cake. It has no direct relation to an
adjective - delicious. It seems that the chef forgot to add seasonings
to the duck.
Apart from the duck meat to be eaten with Chinese
pan-cake, the balanced is to be cooked with eggplant. Though this dish
is still very large in portion, it is not delicious at all or not
sufficient seasonings have been added also. It should be cooked by an
apprentice or a chef with apprenticed cooking skill. From the photo, it
is not too bad. It is in fact an oily dish.
'Braised Sea-cucumber w/ Grapefruit Peel' is a below average item, no matter how beautiful it is presented.
'Stir-fried
Garoupa w/ Green Bean' is nicely displayed. The glass with plant and
tea-colored liquid at top left corner is for decoration only, it is not
edible. From the above several photos, foods are displayed on
exceptionally large plates. I do not think this would enhance food
taste, it also creates a problem that there are too many large plates on
a too small table. The situation is quite ridiculous.

The
Banqueting House is a nicely decorated Chinese restaurant with view of
the Victoria Harbour in TST. It is not a packed restaurant, it always
fosters a comfortable and roomy dining environment. It gives us a very
good first impression. There are not too many diners tonight, we can
select any table we like.
We order five dishes. Except the
pan-fried vegetarian goose, all other dishes are very average or
disappointing. They should have forgotten to add seasonings, too much
oil is added or cooking skill cannot be qualified. The dishes selected
should be a problem (we admit it is also our fault), but the poor
cooking skill should be the main problem. If the average spending is
fifty dollars, the meal is quite ok. But if it is nearly two hundred, it
cannot be accepted. We would have our try in Chinese restaurants other
than this ‘the banqueting house’ in TST in all days to come.
