This electrical oven is for baking sweet potatoes in the shop.
Passers-by would be attracted by the nice and alluring baked sweet
potato smell.
China
Dragon Grocery is a bit different. Its merchandise assortment is quite
special. Quite a lot of unexpected food stuffs can also be found, like
Chinese ham, Chinese herbs, fruits and dried fruits. Three types of
sweet potato are highlighted in the middle of the shop, colours are purple, red and orange respectively. Since it is
claimed to be a nonpareil, we found no reason not to buy some.
Since
it is baked in an electrical oven, surplus water has been evaporated.
The flesh is in enticing golden orange colour. It is rich in
carbohydrate, dietary fiber, carotene, Vitamin B & C, iron and
calcium. Bear in mind, sweet potato is therefore a fantastic and healthy food material.
It
is naturally sweet and very soft in texture. When it is still hot, it
is a very good substitute for bread or rice. To be frank, this baked
sweet potato has no big different from those commonly available in the
street. But the successful marketing of this shop on the other hand should be much appreciated.

China
Dragon Arts is a local grocery store, selling food stuffs from the
mainland China. On the day of my visit, taro, sweet potato, grapefruit,
orange and others are available. Food stuffs on sale are different from
those commonly available in Hong Kong and should be varied according to seasons. This should be a shop with
its own character. It is still worthwhile to have a visit irregularly if
you are free. But there is no need to arrange a trip intentionally to
Sheung Wan.
