'Salty Duck and Smoked Fish' is one of the targets in our visit this time.
It is tasty and the taste is well-balanced. This is the authentic salty duck we are looking for.
Smoked fish is very original too. It would not be too sweet and the meat is very juicy.
Pan-fried Pork Dumpling is served in a plate of five pieces. The
stuffed meat is delicious and juicy. It is one of the best we tried
ever.
Stir-fried Vegetable ('Emperor Vegetable') has a slight special smell but refreshing.
'Soup
of Preserved Pork, Baby Bamboo, Tofu Sheet Knob and Vegetable' is the
first time we order. Soup is palatable and mininum amount of msg should
have been added, if any. All stuffs are fresh and of good quality. You
are suggested to try next time.
'Jiuniang
Dumplings' is slightly sweet and mildly alcoholic. Rice grains are
boiled and fermented. There is also flavor of Osmanthusflowers. The
above are either served with filled or unfilled glutinuous rice
dumpling. After finishing these dumplings, it is a complete ending of
this meal.

We
would like to try again in Liu Yuan today and are afraid it would be
fully booked. We are allotted to a table for two. Before long, we order 3
dishes, soup and dessert. As expected, dishes are still tasty. We have to
thank for the sophisticated cooking skill of chefs and they can still
keep food quality at high level, or you may say they are a bit
outstanding. Price must not be low. If you are looking for tasty food of
Shanghai cuisine at low price, Liu Yuan is not your choice. Such combination should not exist in Hong
Kong. You may have tasty food of Shanghai cuisine at not low price, or
you may have not tasty food of Shanghai cuisine at low price.
