BBQ Skewer Combo – 6 pieces $60. We order lamb, chicken
and pork. The skewers are displayed in the form of a tent. The
delectable satay sauce is contained in rectangular oval shape plate,
which would enhance easy-dipping of sauce. All meats are juicy and are
soaked with delicious sauce before they are grilled. Onion, green
cucumber and Indonesian rice cubes are included in the combo.
The red band is chili.
Grilled
Fish Fillet with Sweet & Spicy Javanese Sauce $98. There are
several pieces of sole with a cone of yellow ginger rice. Sole is not
oily and soaked with Javanese sauce, its taste is quite similar to
concentrated Japanese Miso sauce. It is tasty. Yellow ginger rice is a
bit oily and is yellow in color only, but has no trace of ginger flavor.
The yellow ginger rice is the poorest item in the whole meal.
Prawn chips are good for beer.
Beer is chilled and contained in glasses of different shape.
Restaurant is nicely displayed with comfortable lighting.

Ir1968
has a new and attractive outlook in Leighton Road, this is the second
renovation of its outlook in these years. It should be a good experience
to have the first trial. A substantial amount of money should have been
spent in the restaurant design, but the craftsmanship is still not very
outstanding. In a dark inner environment, ir1968 has already got high
marks.
We are not hungry and order 2 items only, plus 3 glasses
of beer (Stella and San Miguel). They are “BBQ Skewer Combo – 6 pieces
串燒沙爹拼盆 $60” and “Grilled Fish Fillet with Sweet & Spicy Javanese
Sauce 醬燒魚柳 $98”. The bill is $372 (average per head $186).
Foods
are nicely displayed, they deserve the price though it is a bit pricey
from the normal standard. This would greatly enhance appetite. A pity is
that we are not hungry tonight, we cannot order a lot of foods.
Ir1968
offers delicious Indonesian foods, with smaller than normal portion and
at higher than normal price. The restaurant is nicely decorated with
comfortable lighting. Beer is chilled and contained in glasses of
different shape. Service is only average. In view of food quality, it is
worthwhile to visit again. But in view of supplying no free water and
they have the intention of forcing you to order their drinks, it is not
suggested to visit no matter how delicious the foods are. I don't want a
cunning / money-oriented businessman to earn my money. It is not a mean
behavior but in my mind to supply free water or tea in a restaurant is
mandatory. Even though the restaurant would not supply water or tea
automatically, if diner requests, they should supply with ease and
willingness. We surely would not order less foods, in order to save up
money. Besides, from the restaurant layout, its customers should mostly
not be budget diners.
