Ho Hung Kee is a wonton shop of 62 years history. It was established in 1946.
Wonton
Noodle is one of the signature items. Noodle texture is always al dente
in our visit . Soup base is tasty and natural . Soup is clear in color
and it is the result of boiling fish, shrimp, and pig bone for several
hours.
There are totally 4 pieces of wonton, which is not large
in size. And of course, wonton is palatable. Shrimp and pork are
stuffed inside.
Kale is priced at $19@, it is a bit pricey.
Singapore-Style
Fried Vermicelli $52. It is anyway a discovery to us. Though the
shrimps are chilled (not fresh), it is fried in the traditional Hong
Kong style. I prefer to be more spicy. Vermicelli is in the right
softness. Apart from shrimp, there are cha siu, sprout, green onion,
bell pepper and white sesame.
In the mission of finishing this
plate of fried vermicelli, we notice that only small / sufficient amount
of oil has been used. "2 thrumbs up" . This does not imply all fried
stuffs are also in such high quality. Please do not misinterpret.

We
have visited Ho Hung Kee several times. We should appreciate them very
much, in the sense that the food quality can always be maintained at
high level, price can also be attained at the highest point possible,
and the poor service can always be kept. There is always queue,
particularly in lunchtime, dinnertime, and teatime during weekend.
Needless
to say, its food quality is high, to an extent that we can waive all
other demerits. Wonton noodle and wonton are surely impeccable (as high
as that from Wing Wah in Wanchai). It is the result of fresh material of
good quality, and sophisticated cooking skill. We of course would keep
on visiting Ho Hung Kee, even though its price will go up continuously.
