'Fried
Grouper w/ Garlic and Green Onion in Pot' is an above average item.
Grouper meat is fresh and bouncy. We all like it very much.
Fried
Chicken has a very attractive display and the skin is crispy. But
please do not be cheated. It is a chilled chicken only, meat texture is
not good. This is out of our expectation that Lei Garden would also
serve chilled chicken.
"Mushroom & Green Vegetable in Soup" is not oily. This is the main reason for us to order.
'Soup w/ Deep Fried Crispy Rice' is normally a tasty item.
Golden Dough Ball is very hot when served, and takes some time to prepare. It is one of the signature desserts in Lei Garden.

For
Chinese restaurant chain, Lei Garden (LG) should be the one with stable
food quality. In my impression, it always looks for excellence. It is
not an easy task to run a restaurant group, with continuous expansion in
Hong Kong and with branches in Guangdong , Singapore and Beijing , but
at the same time, there is always increasing support from diners. In
dinnertime, LG is full and the diners are mostly those families with
higher income, tourists and businesspersons. We are lucky that the
service to us is not bad or we can say their service is attentive and
the waitresses are nice.
We order a dinner set of $888 for 4, the
bill is $1,050 (average per head $260). In this meal, we sense that LG
still tries hard and cooks with heart. If there is any demerit, they are
mainly due to the increasing cost of food material (like, chilled
chicken is used instead of fresh chicken). LG has to use food materials
of lower grade, resulting that the outcome for some dishes are not good
no matter how good the cooking skill is.
