Sashimi Rice Set $120 is served with salad, steamed custard egg, miso soup and seaweed.
It
looks a bit small in portion, serving different types of sashimi. Rice
is of Japanese origin. Rice is mixed with sliced mushroom. This is
already good in quality, but can be better. Wasabi is freshly prepared,
this is much appreciated.
Minced Otoro Rice Set is also in small portion, at first glance only.
It
serves with a lot of shredded green onion. Minced otoro is fresh and
high in quality. It is suggested to eat the Japanese egg yolk with sushi
rice (it is also mixed with sliced mushroom), it would be a fantastic
enjoyment. Overall quality is a bit higher than the mixed sashimi rice
set, in the above.
Appetizer
Seaweed is natural and healthy.
Steamed
Custard Egg is already slippery and has not been overcooked. It is
steamed with mushroom, chicken meat and ginkgo. But it can be better
too.

Genki
Ippai (GI) has been operating for several years. It is a Japanese
restaurant serving about 40 diners at the same time. It is a typical
Japanese restaurant, in the sense that it has Japanese Chef(s), Japanese
layout and many Japanese diners. It seems that its tables are also
imported directly from Japan .
We order two rice sets (mixed
sashimi rice set and minced otoro rice set), the bill is $240 (average
per head $120). Since GI is not a localized Japanese restaurant, we do
have some confidence in its food. When the sets are served to us, our
feeling is that “it is in the right track”, in terms of food
presentation and Japanese originality. Sashimi and minced otoro are both
fresh enough, this is of utmost importance. Appetizer, steamed custard
egg and miso soup are tasty as well. You are recommended to have a try.
