Soup of Shark's Fin and Fish Maw. This is the portion for
one diner. Though it is a soup in dinner set, its quality is still high
and it should have been prepared with heart and minimum amount of msg,
if any.
'Braised Abalone and Goose Web' is of above average
quality. It is value for money to have such dish in a meal set of net
price $160.
Lobster is fresh and meat is bouncy. Udon is al
dente. It is a fusion dish between Japanese and Chinese stuffs. We do
not expect there is a synergistic effect between lobster and udon, we
like it very much.
'Black Pork' is grilled with sauce and honey. Its quality is not bad, but it is not the texture and taste I like. Sorry.
Vegetable in Soup
Pan-fried Pork Dumpling is stuffed with minced pork and sweet corn. It is a bit oily on surface.
Steamed
Milk Custard is not too sweet and the portion size is 'S' only. To be a
dessert in dinner meal set, it should be appreciated.

It
is not easy to order dishes in Chinese restaurants, if we have only two
persons. This is the reason why meal sets are always available to solve
this problem. Meal set is always set at lower or value for money price.
In East Ocean Seafood Restaurant, it is a dilemma whether we should
order meal set of Yellow Crab or Lobster. Since there is a big
difference in unit set price of $530 and $160 (after 10% service
charge), we finally decide to order two Lobster sets instead. In our
evaluation, it is not too value for money if yellow crab set is ordered.
The money ($740 for 2 persons) saved up can be used to enjoy other
meals.
For the lobster & abalone meal set, there are totally 7
items, namely shark’s fin soup, abalone & goose web, lobster &
udon, black pork, vegetable, dumpling and dessert. In terms of food
portion, it is surely sufficient to us. For a dinner of $160 per head,
we really should not expect too much. In view of relatively high food
quality in East Ocean, it is surely a recommendation set to my
blogmates. For your information, this promotion meal set will be
available till 19 September 2009.
